Monster egg!!

We were so reluctant to open it - we've been showing everyone who stops by the house - lol.

Once opened it was pretty boring - 2 yolks (very large ones). That's it! I measured the contents of the egg, it came out to be just a shade under 1/2 a cup of egg product.

It went in a carrot cake for my dd's birthday - I counted it as 2 for the recipe - lol.

I had an egg about that size from one of my ISA Browns recently. Same thing...way too big for a jumbo egg carton and I winced on behalf of whichever girl
laid that one! Mind you one girl (I only have 4) had not laid the day before so she must have been working up to it. The egg had two very large yolks as well.

Actually, the little trooper took only one day off and then started laying regular size eggs again. Then she took yesterday off and today in my horse-hay shelter I found another monster egg - just like the one I posted! Do you believe this girl!! I know who is doing it because I am home all day and I keep some loose tabs on who's singing the egg song and who's in the nest box (and who's being naughty and poking around in the horses's hay!! LOL)

I feel bad for her!!! I wish she would just give herself a break!!!
