Month old barred rock pullet...or maybe not?

So I have this barred rock chick, sold as a pullet...but at a month old it sure has a big pink comb. What do y'all think? Is it a cockerel? Any help would be greatly appreciated...this is the first time I've ever raised chickens. A month in and I love it, but shoot I hope I don't end up with a rooster...

My mother has a Jack Russell puppy who rolls around in the lawn and the chicks jump on her and peck her feet. They've pretty much grown up together.

Dogs appreciate a parted and skinned chicken for dinner. It would be really good for the pup too.

It would be a good idea, but I'm trying to get the Jack to learn to respect and tolerate small animals, not kill and eat them; with her sense of smell, she would probably know it was him...that would be counterproductive to her current training. She loves on him and gives him kisses all the time...I just don't have the heart to feed my Baylee dog her little avian buddy. Guess it looks like I'm stuck with a rooster, eh?
