Moose is still sick! Help!

Kathy, again, I can't thank you enough! Can you answer my questions about if I should treat Lucy as well, and is worming done once a year, or twice a year? Or, only when symptoms occur?

Might be a good idea to worm Lucy as well. As for how often? Some people wait for symptoms, others worm 2-4 times a year, just depends on you climate and soil conditions. Is there a vet that you can consult?

No vets in my area will see us, they are considered farm animals. But, the bird store only 1 mile away is the one that gave me antibiotics when Moose had snot coming out his nose. They sell really expensive birds and have many different antibiotics on hand to sell.

How is Moose today?

AS far as vets go, call around and ask the various vets in your area about doing routine fecal for you. If you can't find anyone, you could have your State lab do them.

Thanks Kathy, I will! Moose still has no voice today, however, he seems to be a bit perkier! I put vitamins in their water yesterday, plus the worming meds last night, I think he honestly looks perkier!

Moose still has ZERO voice. He is eating great, playing in the pool and seems normal, however, still no sound. It's quite depressing that he can't make sound. He has had 4 days of Safeguard, still has 1 day left.

I"m at a loss.

Sorry I missed this, Any change in Moose since 5 days ago?

Yes! Moose now has her full voice back!!! And, she is eating much better. Lucy on the other hand, is going through a serious, molt! She has lost so many feathers, her wings look like chickens wings fried up! No feathers at all on her wings! Feathers are dropping like flies! Good thing she is a pet, if she had to fly away from danger, she would never get off the ground! She won't even go in the pool because she is so naked!
