More buff silkie babies!

CityGirl, I just wanted to tell you - by using your descriptions and studying the two very closely this evening, I'm now certain that Jethro is the pullet and Ellie Mae is the cockerel. EM has the swept back, Elvis do and it's getting kinda spikey. Also, EM is becoming more and more afraid of my cockerel, Impy. Gives him a wide berth.

Poor Jethro got left behind again. Time for them to go to roost and a headcount came up short. Found Jethro way off from the coop. He, I mean she, came running when I walked out there and called her name.

Thanks! My original chicks came from Jack Ferguson from Knoxville. He has amazing birds and I feel very fortunate to have some from his line. He has done a lot of work on the line. I feel like I'm riding his coat tails for sure.
The smaller ones are from my breedings. They are starting out nicely. I already see some that will be culls, but there are a couple that are quite nice. We shall see what happens in a couple of months.

Mahonri- I am surprised that you haven't taken the plunge yet. You need some silkies.

They look amazing! You have a really nice line going and you've really made the most of those few beautiful babies you got from Jack. I could look at those pictures all day (but I'm supposed to be working!)

Thanks, Belle! I could sit out in the pen all day my own self. These babies are so sweet and cuddly. Now if only they would learn to go to bed in the coop...

I LOVE the pics! They are so cute you just want to gobble them up! I want to get a silkie ... Or two.. Maybe 4 so they can have friends. I see that you have them in their own space, I don't know anything about them at all. Can you mix them with regular chickens? And here's the loaded question
