If message boards like this had existed when I last worked at one of my companies in particular, posting would have been a firing offense, even on your own time. That company was paranoid as heck.

I'm signed on all the time, but that doesn't mean I'm here all the time. When my students are at art or music, PE, etc, I have free time I can surf if I want, my grading is done, my plans are done, it beats going to the dark hole we call the teacher's lounge to hear people complain.
We have stay at home moms, dads, people who work nights and surf days.
I really don't think it's a case of "bad for our bosses" at all, I think it shows we have a very diverse community and we all work different hours. Some are lucky enough to work at home and tele-commute.

Oh I didn't mean that one should post during business hours, I should have been more specific. You couldn't post if you were even on your lunch hour. I'm surprised they didn't charge us for breathing the air.

I have bosses but they know I bust my butt and when I get free time I help others-then Ill surf-I just noticed the #'s of people logged on were twice as much than on the weekends

No one where I work cares as long as everything gets done and gets done right. So I am here all day
