More expensive bator..better?(Updated w/Pics)

Great little incubator ,even great for parrot eggs.

Only thing they dont hold alot of eggs.

Not everyone needs to hatch a hundred eggs. Great for class rooms also.

The top hatch need a blanket around it. to help hold the heat.

I just LOVE my R-Com 20. I wish they made an R-Com 40! I also have a Brinsea Octagon 40 and a little giant still air. I like the R-Com 20 best because of how quickly it goes back to temp and humidity after opening it. You can even open during hatches with no problems. I use the LG as a backup in case I over-buy on eggs.

My opinion is that the R-Com is definitely worth it if you can afford one because it is so easy - all you have to do is remember to keep the water tank filled up - every 2 to 3 days. Otherwise, set it and forget it.

My best hatch rates have been in my R-Com 20.

1much - yes you can do bigger eggs in the R-Com. There is a universal egg tray that can hold multiple sizes of eggs at the same time.

I candled the eggs today (day 13 - just couldn't wait for day 14....I know I am in for a long week when am already this antsy)

Three of the seven white orpington eggs showed no development so I removed them. A bit disappointing, but expected since shipping does take a toll.

All five blue/wheaten maran eggs showed excellent development. Considering three of the five eggs sat in my refrigerator for a few days, I am a bit surprised that all are developing.

The orpington/blue copper cross showed development as well as the austrolop/blue copper egg - so seven for seven on the eggs from my birds. Impressive considering my blue copper roo is less than six months old - go figure

I am now down to 11 eggs from the 14 I started with. Now I just have to sit tight and wait for hatching
