I consider myself to be well experience in poultry but one question me and my friends have always for as long as I can remember have argued about is; does it make more sense to hatch out it 30 ducklings and raise them up sell them or is it more profitable to hatch out ur 30 chicks and raise and sell them (keep to around point of laying)
I think it make more sense to work with ducks what do u guys think

Ducklings.

Chickens. I breed and raise over 25 breeds of them. I ship them or sell them locally. If you are looking for money, chickens will give you that. My Light Sussex go for $200 a piece! Plus, a lot of people are not familiar with raising ducks. They require more maintenance and are not your usual starter's species.

My mom just hatched 2 Ayam Cemeni chicks. She says if you get a pure breed mating pair, you can sell them for quite a bit. She says just the hatching eggs can go for as much as $90 each. Got my wheels turning, but I do not have a good setup, nor enough space for such an undertaking. Also, I'm still a novice chicken keeper, and would not feel experienced enough for the responsibility.

Something else I just learned goes for a high price is wood ducks.

Blackhackle how much is 200$ in euro cause that's seems like a lot I'm just going to throw this fact out there but I've hatch duckling there 3 days ago already of the heat lamp and I hatch chicks over 3 weeks ago and there still on the lamp it take 5euro everyday to run the lamp so it takes a huge chunk of my profit
And must people who buy of me like to start with 2 ducks just cause they are a harder anaimal for the climate I live in
But u do have a fair point in the same thing

I used to keep a few ayam cermi breeding pair for 2 eggs I got 80euro and an unsexed pair of good quality 170euro but have heard of them going for way way more
