On thursday of last week we went out and found 30 grey morels! Went back out yesterday and found 3 pheasants backs, around 7 grey morels and probably around 40 something half free morels(spikes). We gave some to a lady walking by with her pup but we still came home with 29. Was a good day!

I know about the spot thing

Not like I'm going to drive down there lol.

Went out for about 30 minutes today and found a total of 23. 2 more pheasants backs, 8 greys and the rest pretty good spikes fresh from the last time we went.

We got the rain just need warmer weather

I grew up hunting...in OH, now. I havent had much luck since Ive been an adult, not sure when they are up here in TN, or if they even grow in my woods...which is mostly cedar... or if they do, the wild turkey, deer, and my chickens probably get to them first... I know I see box turtles eating mushrooms regularly (not morels though).

Went for a walk at a new spot today found 6 total which was great considering it was new spots

Looks like it's taking a break here for a few days. Here in a few days the big woods hybrids (we call them that) should be up. Friend found around 280 of them a little south so within the next few days

Also found a box turtle today

Rare to see one around here was probably the best find.

It's going to be a great year here! Well better then the last few years. Saturday went down to a spot and pulled out 55 nice yellows a little water damaged but still edible!

Went to a fellow BYCers house today and had a quick look in their woods even though they've never found one there. Guess what? Found a nice big grey morel right by the turkey coop!

It may just be one but it's a new spot for me and the owners

Cooked up a nice meal today of some and we got about 3 more dinners in the fridge! YUM

It's still not over yet!

Also got a good friend that might be giving us a bunch of spikes aka half-free/peckerheads in the next week. Their growing like weeds!

Goodluck to all!
