Most "Aggressive" batch of chicks I have ever had,maybe because the cockerel has not stepped up his

Both often very tough birds! I gave up on them several years ago, because of issues with pecking, feather pecking, and general bossiness. I have never had SQ birds of either breed, so no idea about them. Mary
 
My Show quality RIR are very mellow. I haven't had hatchery quality yet, but I will probably avoid them due to all the troubles I read about them.
 
I knew about both breeds being "Competitive".In fact I have had problems in the past,but I wanted to try again.New Hampshire Reds have never been a problem,but this time they are...
 
I got 7 RIRs for a year now, they are all friendly and on the low side of pecking orders, one complain I got about them is they're not as prolific layers as the write up about them. I also just added 4 New Hamps this spring and they're extremely friendly and just starting to lay eggs this week.
