Most unusual punishment your parents used?

Well I don't know about with me but I did keep my daughter home for school one day and make her clean the house all day. Everyday about two year ago she cry everyday before school and if I want to the school for anything she cried the teacher call me all the time she is crying again. I told her how important school is and if she didn't get a good education she would have to do my job. So I keep her home and showed her my job needles to say teacher call and asked what i did because the crying stop. She decided she want a good education and not do my job.

LOL

If our rooms were dirty when my dad got home (he worked 2nd shift so itd be around midnight) he make us get up and clean them right them all while he yelled at us about how He doesnt work as hard as he does to come home to a poop hole of a house..

and one time..
my sister (haha) got caught under age drinking by coming in late and puking by her bed. (I had moved out by this time) She said when my dad woke her before dawn. He owns a grass mowing business so she had to edge yards blow them weed eat and drag clippings... hung over.

SO FUNNY!

i don't think i've had any cruel, strange, or unusual punishments. it used to be spankings, dad took the belt to me and my sister ONCE. then we would get grounded from books, computer, movies, tv, and the neighbor girl. that's it, anyplace we actually went was necessary and we couldn't get grounded from that. i keep thinking that there is something floating around on the outskirts of my memory that happened that was unusual but can't remember what it is.

My parents didn't take the door, just the door knob. That way the door wouldn't latch and stay shut. So I was taunted with having a useless door. For as much of a recluse as I was, it was a horrid punishement and worked very well.

My mother was the QUEEN of unusual punishments when I was groing up. The ones I remember WELL are 1) if me and sis would fight she would make us sit hip to hip on the couch with our arms around each other until we quit squirming 2) If we got mouthy she gave us an old clothes basket and made us go sit in the yard and pick rocks out of the yard and fill the basket 3) Of course, go get me switch was a daily occurance for me 4) I had 3 step and half siblings so if we tattled on each other my mom would get one of my dad's tube socks and stick it out the back of our pants and make us wear the "tattle tail" and what's odd was this was the ONE thing you COULD laugh at and make fun of without getting in trouble. Ah, the good old days, such good memories LOL!!!!!

I've made my kids hold hands when they have been nasty little snots to one another. It works beautifully. I also like the "say 3 nice things about your brother" one too. They both think it is totally lame and embarassing, so it has an added enjoyment benefit for me. It usually stops the fighting for awhile.

My car music for fighting in the car was strange too. Both kids love Coupland's Fanfare for the Common Man, and as soon as I put it in the air trumpets would come out and the fighting would stop. Weird kids.

My mom would take pictures of my brother when he threw a temper tantrum, and show them to all of us later.

Hahahaha, boy did that WORK!

my parents dont really do much to punish us, because we hardly get in trouble, (too good at not getting caught!) but one that my dad is really good at is giving a very long repetative speech about what ever we did and how it was wrong. it gets so boring that we make sure were not caught the second time!

I have three sisters and I think the worse punishment for us was if we were fighting with each other, we had to kiss each other on the lips, hung each other, and tell each other that we loved them!!! Of course we had the switches, belts, etc. too.
