Mother hen chasing away chicks?

Hi there, was wondering if I could ask you guys a question?

My barred rock hen hatched 3 faverolle eggs, she was a great mum but now 3 months on she has started chasing them away and not tollerating them. Is this normal? She even walks up and gives them a random peck.

She might be trying to establish a pecking order.

Three Months! Wow! That sure took a long time. Many do that in as little as 4 weeks.

It's called weaning. She will no longer take care of them.. They are on their own and responsible to find their own food and protect themselves.
