Hi there, thank oyu for your response. No idea of her age as I only rehomed her this spring, all of the ducks have now stopped laying, I was guessing it was the changing season that has prompted this. All the others are fine and healthy.sounds to me like she could be egg bound. That is exactly what mine do when that happens. How old is she and has she been laying?
I can't feel an egg there, she just feels very skinny, although she is still eating and drinking happily.
Agreed. Can you feel an lump that could be an egg below her vent between her legs?
If you can feel an egg then she needs help to get it out. @DuckyDonna is very experienced with this in the mean time go to TSC and in the cattle dept there is calcium gluconate youll need it. This is what the vets use to help get the egg moving. This can be serious so she needs help ASAP. And welcome to BYC!!Hi there, they have all stopped laying, I can feel an egg there but she feels as though she has lost a lot of weight. She is still eating and drinking though.
We brought her inside as it's really raining and cold and she was just laying on the ground. dried her off and made her a nest in the downstairs bathroom. she drank some water, ate some meal worms and seeds, had a little bowl of treats she was tucking into quite happily. went back 20 mins later to find her dead. :'( at least she was cosy and comfortable and had an amazing last meal. Sleep sweet beautiful girl.
