This black & white chick is our new Whiting Blue. Does her pattern look like it will come out Mottled?

Any breed that has light barring? Just trying to figure out the grown hen pattern. Thanks!

Oh, that’s gorgeous! She was my son’s pick, he picks his birds for patterning and this one he thought would be unique! His other choice was a Sicilian Buttercup. Thank you! I’ll have to remember to update w her photo when she feathers out!

From what I understand, if your's counts as light barred (which it should) I would hope you would know if (say you bought it from a person) if the hen was barred, or the cock. The hen only gives barring to sons, the rooster can give it to either sex offspring (at least according to the thread I linked.)


However crele chicken photos are amazing to look at, and since he is already interested in patterning then that is an avenue he/you might pursue.
