Jeremy, and Juststruttin----thanks so much! You all are always so encouraging. We are very excited about Lavender Mottled.
I just checked in on them....a record high of 70 degrees yesterday and now down to 26 degrees...they seem happy though.

Snapped some more pics of the Lavender Mottled today, including of one of the males. Those in this pen are about 8 months old.







My wife took some of these. I think the one below is of a different cockerel.

Wow, your mottled Lavenders are gorgeous! I am working on both Lavender and Black mottled as well. I have a lavender mottled rooster in with some black split hens(one that was slightly mottled as a chick) and just hatched 2 mottled black chicks my last hatch. I also have a mottled lavender pullet that started laying recently, so she will go in with the group soon. Will you be offering chicks from these this spring? I will add some pics of my most recent mottled chicks soon! Also, if anyone has contacts for anyone with Mottled Blacks, I am looking to acquire a couple more.

No, they are about 1/2 English. I had some mottled Lavender pop up from my Lavender Orps (Hinkjc lines), then I got a partially mottled black split when I bred my Lavender hens to a 7/8 English roo. So, I am now breeding these birds that are about 1/2 English and had these chicks pop up in my last hatch (which I have been hoping for!)!

Just an fyi to jeremy --who already knew--my Java_-i guess is a boy after all--wow I wish I knew it before I got so attached to him..oh well i still have 3 girls for eggs.
