I'm great! My flock is good, although we're thinking about taking Lovey to the vets and having her put to sleep.

She has IB. We tried treating her, but it didn't work. Lately, she doesn't move for ages and she can't cluck anymore. She seems so sad, and it feels really selfish to keep her alive just because I want her to stay with us forever.

IB is Infectious Bronchitis. It affects the respiratory tract of chickens and I think other poultry too.

It's not selfish, you just love her so much and you don't want to lose her. Not all chickens live forever, but they still live on in your heart. Thats what I learned from Lupita, she was seriously sick and I cuddled with her. Then I said," It's okay to let go". Then she passed away the next day.
