Ok thanks for the warning. I'm not buying birds from anyone and we don't live near many chicken-owning people. What are signs that they have it?

So far the only thing it has done in my area is drive my egg sales through the roof. Egg prices in the stores are going way up, so there is a lot more interest in farm fresh eggs
Someone posted another thread yesterday where some shipped quail eggs she had bought tested positive. They showed up at her house yesterday to put her whole flock down. She was begging someone to tell her what to do, and it was such an emergency that she posted her phone number in case anyone had a quick response. It's a serious deal, but not widespread yet. I would lose my mind if the authorities showed up to put down my flocks. I have 7 pens with over 100 chickensI dont know exactly where
But it was in Iowa
It is a flu that your chicken can get and pass on to you and other birds
It us highly pathogenic
They are already almost $4/dozen here, which is about 60% higher. I have heard reports that egg prices may be as much as triple by mid summerWow
How high have the prices been going up?
I did read that they were going through the roof
oh my that is awful! I would be so mad if they did that.I dont know exactly where

I read somewhere in Texas or California they were $12 a dozen. And somewhere else it was $1 per duck eggWow

I will have to go back and see if I can find the thread. I didn't post because I had no idea how to help, so I didn't get updates on it. I'm curious to know the outcomeO

I sell mine for $3/ dozen here, which was pretty close to store prices for my area. I will keep selling them at that price because I don't want to take advantage of a bad situation. Hopefully people will realize that there are a lot more choices for fresh eggs than supermarketsI read somewhere in Texas or California they were $12 a dozen. And somewhere else it was $1 per duck egg
