No most people would agree with you including most of my family but i have a weird interest in them.I call her a spider to but did you know that tarantulas are actually not a type of spider?

I did know that. It's just easier to say spider

XD Are they friendly?

Depends on the kind of tarantula you get and the pain their bites leave depends as well.Mine is very aggressive and the bite is pretty excruciating same with the bird eaters. If I had gotten a pink toe I would be able to hold it and the likeliness of being bit would be very low and it wouldn't hurt as bad.I have a high likeliness of being bit by mine. They also shed hairs off their back when stressed which will give you a small allergic reaction.Mine is fed often has the right humidity and temperature so their is no stressors that would make her want to do that.I don't get very close to her either being that she is extremely fast when she wants to be but she acts relatively calm until feeding time. She isn't frightened easily either I've noticed. She doesn't like light at all she is nocturnal so she comes out at night and that's when I feed her.I feed her every other day which is a lot actually she is like a fish.Look but don't touch.I love her fuzzy little legs and the way she walks so gently on her little ground webs and her eyes are so cute she stares up at me when I go to look at her she seems just as interested in me as I am of her.
