Do you happen to be in Estes Park in Colorado? I was visiting in CO in September and at the foot of the Rocky Mt Nat is a town of people and Elk walk all over, unafraid, just like your pix...cool feeling to be with the beautiful animals.

In Estes yes, there are elk everywhere and they act unafraid. But they are still wild, wild animals and will attack people if they are repulsed or threatened. But, they sure are a beautiful and majestic creature!
