One thing I would definitely try to avoid, if I were you, is repeating things. If it's repetitive, it's boring.
Also, don't introduce all if the characters at once, or even put a lot if details about them in at first. That's just confusing. Spread it out.
My favourite things in books are plot twists at unexpected moments. You want a lot of different plot twists you can use and such, but don't throw them all in at once, otherwise it's overwhelming.
Last piece of advice I can give is: Don't make it like other books. Make it unique to you.
