I am getting a electric fence energizer that can give a good shock, enough to make a raccoon not come back for a loong time. What would be a good voltage? We have a HUGE raccoon around, about the size of a small beagle. But at the same time we have cats, curious ones, as well as 2 small dogs and one larger one. I do not know much about electric fences, and would like to be as safe as possible! Anyone have suggestions?
How big is the area your fencing in? Those go by acres, 1/4 acre 1/2 acre and so on, so I'd base your voltage off that. Dogs and cats will at one point touch it, trust me they won't do it twice

Thanks you two!

Jill has pendulous crop, and left untreated she has a maximum of three weeks to live. The only way the vet would have been able to treat it would have been surgically, and even then the vet wasn't very optimistic that it would help. So my mom bought a "crop bra" for Jill because there was lots of good reviews and outcomes from it.

Oh no!

I hope that "crop bra" works!

I am only fencing in about 10+ feet in all. It may seem small, but we have a ton of raccoons and opoussoms around, no quail, partrige, chicken, ect would stand a chance without it.

Oh no! I really hope the crop bra works. If so or if not, give Jill all the love you can for the next three weeks! God bless you and Jill!

Thanks, me too! :hugs :fl I definitely will! She was so well behaved and such a trooper at the vet today, she didn't struggle or anything until they did a throat swab, then she put up a bit of a fight. But all on all she was very well behaved.

She's in the bathroom in a pet porter right now because it's supposed to be 33 degrees tonight, and I don't want her to catch a chill. Poor Jill even wanted to go to bed, I was letting her walk around the bathroom while we ate supper, then after we finished eating I went to check on her and she had walked into her pet porter and was laying down.

Wow, she IS a trooper! I want to go to sleep right now too. 33 degrees?

It still gets to the upper 80s (Mid day) here! Well, today it will stay down to 83 degrees, but that is just due to the rain. Again, God bless!
