So we're in Illinois right now so I missed my homeschool community day, which made me sad in and of itself. But then my friend texted me and said that our classmate (who left mid-semester to go to a different school) stopped in to say "hey". I missed seeing him and haven't been able to say goodbye.

Do any of you artsy-fartsy ( ) people know how to sharpen charcoal pencils without the lead breaking? I just bought a pack of charcoal pencils today for the first time and "attempted" to draw something, but I ended up wasting about a quarter of the pencil just trying to sharpen the dang thing.
