Mouse bite/Frost bite/ broken ankles???

Pics
I've got a few little field mice around but they are not a problem. Now, rats I have had problems with! They have burrowed under the coop a couple of times. I put down blue poison bait in their holes at night and cover them over with a flat paving stone, and check in the morning diligently that no blue bait has been dragged out into the open that rhe chickens could get, before I let the chickens out. It takes a couple of weeks to kill the nest, but it eventually works. I don't know if this would work with mice. Perhaps burying pipes with bait in along their running channels? And closing them up during the day.

I know what you mean about little dogs! They have their uses though 😁 The working kind are far nicer than the lap kind!

I will not use poison for mice. I've lost cats I loved dearly to poison other people used, and will not risk the same. I don't know what mice we have. They're brown, not scared of chickens and are usually between an inch and three long

Alright, I got some grower feed for them. Wanted 19.99 for a 10 pound bag on clearance. Yay 😑

They're all walking, even the white one kinda, but I think it's more because mama is than because they feel good.

Here's more pics of the barn where they are. Ignore the mess, they dumped water while I was at school and I cleaned the pens after I took the pictures. There is a pair of mama's with 2 chicks in the middle cage, the trouble group in the bottom cage and a Cochin and her baby running around on the floor. I shut the trouble group in, but they're awfully crammed now.

Alright, they've been on feed for almost a week now. They seem to be doing a bit better and I've been cooking them up so they can't get into trouble again.

Whatever is going on with my white gal's back toe though is spreading to her other toenails and they're turning black.

Sorry that no one has responded.
It would be good to get some better photos with some light and of all the chick's feet that you are concerned about.

Turning black is likely due to frostbite. Have you been treating the feet at all?

I did the first night, and by morning her swelling was gone. It's within the last 2 or 3 days that her toes have started turning bad. It's been much, much warmer since I bought the feed (back up to 50-60 where it should be normally)
