Mouth opening

I really don't have much experience with duckling leg or foot issues at all, but all I can say (mostly from my readings here on BYC) is to make sure you're giving the ducklings their niacin supplements and maybe give the duckling that's having a hard time walking some extra (supervised) swimming time so that it takes the weight off of the foot/leg and also exercises and strengthens it while he or she paddles around.

mara DuckMom has it pretty well covered - niacin at 100 to 150 mg per gallon of water, or use B Complex and let the amount of niacin in it be your guide.

You can also add a tablespoon of nutritional or brewer's yeast (not baking yeast) per cup of food.

Do this supplementation for a couple of months - if it's a niacin deficiency, improvement often begins within days.

Sprains take a while to heal - weeks, possibly. Epsom salt compresses (it is a laxative, don't let them drink it) help.

As far as I know, there aren't any foods you can give them that will supply them with the amount of niacin they need. Depending on what stores you have around you (tractor supply, other farm type stores, wal mart,
pharmacies, etc) you should be able to find Brewers yeast or nutritional yeast fairly easily..and it won't be too expensive. If nothing else, you can always order it online. I was able to find Brewers yeast at wal mart and it came in tablets so I crushed them and sprinkled them over the duckling food. There are other types that you can put in their water instead. Just make sure you do not get baking yeast, commonly found at the grocery store. That's not the kind you want. Amiga will probably be back on here in the morning and I'm sure she can give you some great advice on this.
