In my haste to provide water for two newly hatched chicks, I accidentally spilled a quart of water in the nesting area. So I took all the bedding and eggs out. I was careful to not turn them. No more have hatched since then, two hours or so ago. Did I injure the chicks?

They'll be fine - there is often an early bird or two then a bit of a break before the next ones hatch. :thumbsup
Thank you so much. I just checked and there is a very recent one hatched. Still wet. This is heart wrenching!! Can you tell it’s my first time? Do I need to have food and water out for them tonight or can they go without tonight? Thank you!

Ok yes it’s very hard to leave them alone. They are being hatched under a mama hen. I just wanted to make sure I didn’t injure them. They are bantams and very tiny and precious! Thank you!

You must have a very tolerant broody. She's got this. Provide water and food in the morning maybe. Any time is ok, but let her do her thing.
