Moving 800 miles with 10 chickens

If you are crossing state lines, you may want to check the laws regarding transportation of birds. You should also be sure that you are legally allowed to move those birds due to some areas being under quarantine. Failure to check could subject you to fines and the loss of all your birds.

I would not have water in the crates because of spillage and wetting of bedding. Rather I would stop periodically and provide water.
I agree with this. This is my main concern. Even if you use nipples as you mention it would be pretty hard to get the water out in a moving truck, also I am sure the truck will shake and cause the nipples to leak.

I never had to move my birds that far (Thank God)
