Moving with my flock

Hi folks. I'm sure someone on here has moved with their flock of chickens. I'm curious how long it took your birds to get used to their new surroundings and did you do anything special other than keep them in the coop/run for a while until they figured out that they weren't in the same place anymore?

They settle in pretty quickly. If you have laying hens it may take a while (a month, maybe two for a flighty hen) for them to start laying again. If you have any that are on the verge of molting a big move may hasten that process. They will bounce back from their move quicker than you probably will. Chickens are very resilient.

We just moved our flock the beginning of this month... We had them locked in the coop for 3 days while we put up fence. The day I opened the chicken door, it was like a black friday 90% off sale... They were jumping over each other and trying to squeeze out the door all at once... It doesn't take long for them to adjust. They will be fine.
