We are planning on moving from NJ to GA and are wondering if anyone has moved their flock with them, could they offer suggestions on how they did it. My ultimate plan is to trailer the coop and just keep the girls in there, so they still have sufficient room rather than being "cooped up" (for lack of better words..lol) in a carrier or something. We have 13 chickens.

Any suggestions, ideas or info that has worked for you is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

In May we moved 50 chickens and 30 rabbits from Chattanooga TN to Fostoria OH. 510 mile trip. You definitely want to stop every couple hours to rest them. Everytime we stopped we became rock stars. People would come up to look at the animals and take pictures.

It may sound like a good idea to leave them in the roomy coop, but it's best if they are cages with limited room. This will keep them from flopping around and hurting themselves.

Good luck.
