Hi Everyone, I just saw mucus on my rooster's comb today. He seems to be ok, but should I be concerned? What is this? Pictures included.

He has a little gunk in his eye. Is there any nasal drainage? Can you grab him and wipe it off? Feel of his comb, and try to figure out where it is coming from— beak, nostrils, or eye. Has he been having signs of a respiratory infection?

Thank you for your response! He's been sneezing a little. What should I do for him?

I would try to get Tylan 50, or order Tylosin powder online from Jedds.com. Put 1 tsp of .tylosin in a gallon of his water for 5 days. Consider your other chickens exposed and carriers. Have you added any new chickens recenrly?

Thank you! I'll purchase this. We haven't gotten any new birds. It just came on today. I wonder what this is and how he got it?

They can have the MG organism in their body and it can suddenly cause symptoms. It comes from a carrier bird, even wild birds, and can even be tracked in on your shoes. Testing is about the only way you would know for sure what he has. Your state vet could do testing if you want to know. If the Tylosin works, then that might be a sign it is MG. Here is some reading:
