mucus/slime coming from ducks mouth.

my 2 full grown duck both had this thick mucus stuff in there beaks yesterday. i gave them water and they cleaned it out but the mucus came back. this morning all the mucus was gone and i haven’t seen any in there beaks today. i am worried that it might be avain cholera, this is what one of there beaks looked before i put them to bed.

This happens to my ducks when they have been foraging and eating slugs. Could that be the case?

This also happens to my ducks when they've been eating slugs, especially this time of year when it's wet, and the slugs are out like crazy. The mucus from the slugs is so thick that they clean their beaks but it takes a while for them to get it all off.

probably, it was raining and they were around the yard foraging.
