My chicken run is an absolute mud hole lately. I’ve tried straw etc but it’s ruined in literally a day. Any ideas? I have a TON of rubber mulch I got free. Would it be worth a shit to put it in the run? I can’t get it to dry out no matter what I do.

Not really.
Need coarse wood chips/mulch to help break down the poops.

Is there a drainage problem in the run...standing water?
Gotta fix that first, no bedding will help with that.

There is pretty bad drainage unfortunately I can’t move it. My husband does construction so he knows the dirt part. I know a friend has stone and the poop just washes through I was hoping the rubber mulch would do the same. Especially since I have a lot already. We’re going to put filter cloth down so the mud doesn’t come back up through

Poop will wash down into stone or rubber mulch and just stink.
Need to get water out of run using trenches, etc.
And/or keep it from getting into the run with a roof and/or gutters and/or trenches/swales/etc.

Post some pics of the run and surrounding areas and I'll bet you'll get some good suggestions.
