Mulch for chicks

My city leave mulch for free to take. Is it good for bedding. I think the city workers dump it there. It's a little wet.

Indoors and in coop house is probably a bad idea if it's wet, because of mold and stuff. But for ground cover, I don't see a problem.

If you have room to store it, I'd grab a big pile and stick it somewhere in the yard. Let it age a bit and you'll have free bedding to use for years.
