Multiple baby crows found

Do you think they're Grackles then? I see how crow-like that pic is. :D

Same food and care as crows?

'icterid' thanks Tenrec, i love new words!

Yep! They look like lil baby grackles. People often do confuse blackbirds and grackles with crows.

And when they're fledglings like this, same diet as most songbird fledgies (emphasis on protein and calcium). There's definitely more information on crow nutrition for older birds, because a lot of people keep crows, but grackles are omnivores and will probably do just as well. Hopefully the rehabber has some of their own kind to put them with and teach them how to grackle better.

And no problem. I'm learning a lot here too. : p

Ok! You live in Florida, so that makes sense. What you're seeing aren't common grackles, but probably boat-tailed grackles! Those guys are a treat during mating season.

Still haven't seen mom?
Not exactly. I have seen some of the same birds, but because they are quite common here, i cant tell if it's their mother or not.

So far i have fed them the yolk from a hard boiled egg, a mix of blue berries and raspberries, and some dry cat food that i let soak in water until it was soft. They seemed to like it all. And here's some good news: The one that couldn't walk is actually moving now, and they're definitely chirping louder now.

I'm sorry to hear that. Seems like it was weak to begin with...It's not your fault. Any news on contacting a rehabber?

I looked it up, and i found some people, i also found a rehab center. I'm not sure, but I might be able to take him tomorrow. I just hope he survives the night.

Is he behaving strangely?

Is he being kept warm and dark?

Fingers crossed for you guys.
Well, not strangely, but he is a bit weak. He is in a big plastic pond cut out on my back porch, and it is about 85 degrees out, which i think may be fine.
