Mumsy's Romantic Garden Advice

I'm worried about Mumsy. Hasn't been on in a couple weeks!

Midnightroo, thanks! No I have not seen any honeybees at all, very concerning! Only a few carpenter bees and wasps, and these are not at their usual numbers. This is very concerning! There is a house a little up the road that has hives, I will look if these are still there. Guess this winter I will build or buy that top bar hive and figure out where to hide it. Better do two while I'm at it.

So much the same here as far as weather. First too cool, too wet, then no rain and no bees and too warm.

Hope Mumsy is well.

Ok, I know mumsy isn't around right now (hoping she's ok!) but maybe some of the rest of you can help me? I have a really nasty neighbor and want to screen the rest of my property ENTIRELY from her prying nosey busybody eyes. That way she cannot be offended by how slowly we are repairing our house, or by the toys in the yard, or by our poultry and won't feel the need to call the zoning comitte. In fact, then we can pretend that she doesn't exist (i hope) so what I need is a VERY quickly growing evergreen plant that will get at least 8 feet tall. and FAST. any suggestions? Narrow would be good.

Back in the thread I was asking about privacy hedging and trees/plants. Some of the discussion started here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/807174/mumsys-romantic-garden-advice/140#post_11697223

But there was some prior to that too. Maybe something in there would be useful.

ah yes... I'm actually looking into a winter hardy bamboo right now. If I had a fence tall enough I would just plant hops, which I like and grows like MAD. Problem is I don't want to wait three years for it to be any good. I want it last month at this point....
