We've ordered from MM since the 80s - we've never had this problem. I know that they had a problem this past year but we've ordered since then and everything was fine. All chickens alive and laying.

I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

I wish i found this thread before i ordered from them. I ordered from them bc i thought they were the best. I hope they fixed there problem and i have healthy chicks.

OK, these threads annoy me. I have no issue with the original poster asking if the AE had been cleared up, it's a valid question.

But please people, don't bash any hatchery just because someone had a bad experience with them. Order from them yourself and form your own opinion. For every one person that has had a bad experience, someone else has had a great one. Experience is the best teacher, so don't rely on someone else's.

Stepping off the soapbox now.

i've been ordering chickens from MM for years in batches of 25--75. except for the ones damaged in transit, which MM prompty credited me for, i have only ever lost ONE chick, a top hat. i ordered the top hats for a friend; they were the tiniest things i've ever seen, but only lost the one, and think maybe she would have been okay if we'd had fewer chicks to keep an eye on. the first question my neighbors (long time farmers) asked after my first batch of chicks came was 'how many have you lost?' when i said 'none,' they said 'well, you're having really good luck.' but it's not luck, it's because i'm so particular about their care.
