But that said, only 3 dead is pretty good for that number of chicks. Although still sad of course. As for the weak ones, I think if you can give them a little bit of Poultry Nutri-Drench it should perk them right up. They sell it at TSC and most other feed stores if you don’t already have some.

I've got 25 coming from them this next week. I will post my results to see if the news is any better than what happened to the person who made this thread.

I've also got an order coming from McMurray, so I'll let you know about my experience as well. I have a small order (16) of ornamental layers coming to Georgia.

I've received two orders from them before, one for 25 chicks and another for 28. No losses in shipping. Only one mis-sexed pullet.

There's a hatchery that I have ordered from twice because of price and proximity. Of the 45 or so pullets I have ordered and raised. Not a single one of them ever laid an egg!! Not even one. I figured they had terrible stock and never ordered from them again. I have had no problems with Murray, Cackle, Meyer or Valley Farms. Did have quite a few die last year from one of my Cackle orders but not sure if it was shipping or just sickly birds.

Still only three of my birds have died. They appear to be doing much better. I went ahead and ordered a few more of each breed that has either died or lost from Ideal. They should be in by the end of March.

If you have not already done so you may want to call your local post office and let them know you are expecting a chick order and have them call you as soon as the order arrives.

When your chicks arrive at the Post Office Distribution Center, the Distribution Center may call you and ask you if you want to drive to the Distribution Center, to pick up your order. Please note, while many customers do this, it is not required. If you prefer, tell them to send the chicks on to your local Post Office.

100% survival upon arrival. Packing slip says they gave me an extra female Speckled Sussex as well as my "exotic" free chick for ordering 25 regular chicks. Can you tell which is probably the "exotic"? I sure can! Hahaha. One blinding yellow/white chick in the mix.
