Muscovie's faces

I swore I would never get muscovies because I really didn't like the carruncling, and then I was given a mystery duckling...Now they are my favourite duck! You really do get accustomed to the look, and the females only have a tiny bit. I work at home and my customers love the drake- AKA "the turkey duck" that's always wagging his tail. Muscovies have such great personalities, and they're quiet, and I also find them less messy and less destructive with the "drilling" of the ground than my other ducks.

That is so funny that your customers call your drake the "turkey duck" because everyone called Tom, the last of the Muscovy drakes at the lake the same thing (I think that's why he was named Tom).

Some have it more than others... my first flock is almost 4mths(early sept) and none including the drakes have it that heavy(as of yet). I think there other qualities tend to surpass the issue with caruncles.

Now this is one handsome dude! don't ya'll think?

I recently got a baby muscovy. It's about 2 1/2 weeks old now. I got it when it was 4 days old. The mother hatched it but it is still really sweet with me. His down is brown and yellow. How can you tell if it will be a male or female? He lives in the house. I have another duck, a 5 month old male pekin that i love love as if he were a child. I diaper him and he runs around the house. The baby duck likes him. I let them bathe together to get use to each other. The pekin doesn't seem to mind the new baby. I feed the baby the baby duck food but he really loves meat and peas too.
