Yes when I go out and pass by the door I hear the same thing, jumping off the roost and moving about, they are eager to come out, when I open the door I too have had them fly at me.

My dogs are the same way regarding the time change. If we aren't feeding them at their designated time due to the end of daylight savings time, they are in our face letting us know it's time to eat. Especially if you tend to animals at the same time everyday, jumping the clock back doesn't affect them, but the later feeding does.Probably the time change... ducks have an incredible internal clock and don't know what Daylight Savings Time is, so as far as they're concerned you're letting them stay out late but keeping them inside too long.
My ducks start quacking up a storm at about 7:10 now (we usually let them out at 8:10). They should adjust within a few weeks...
What am I doing wrong?![]()
Should I let them out an hour early?According to their internal clock you are now letting them out an hour late.
When I'm right up at the door, It'd just jump.Mine do it no matter what time--they hear me and know I'm coming to let them out.
Does the duck do it if it does t hear you or only when it does hear you?
When I'm right up at the door, It'd just jump.
Exactly! Then it's just in anticipation of you opening that door. The poor duck is beside itself with excitement.
