Muscovy Duck question.

My ducklings are 24 days old. I was wondering when they will start to develope their caruncle? Also when will they begin to feather out? I have yet to see any pin feathers on any of them. So far they each weigh just under a pound, and are healthy and acftive. Any advice or information on raising these guys?

they are in the beginning stage of uglyness. lol But they are still cute.

I love my little muscovy. I just can't believe his wings are still growing in!

Oh I love my little scovy babies, but next time I get any I would prefer to get them out of an incubator. lol The 7 that I have are in no way hand tame, even with my best efforts and at least 2 hours of interaction each day... Oh well I am still glad that I have them.

Does anyone know if it will be a problem to keep more than one drake in a flock?
I have no idea what sex they are yet, but I am curious as to if I will have any problems, if I end up with more than one drake. I will probably rehome all but one drake if there is going to be trouble.

Mine were 8 weeks on Wednesday.. yesterday I just noticed some red barely on top of the beak, it showed up literally overnight.

I have more than one muscovy drake in my flock and really don't have any problems. If you give them plenty of space, then they should be fine as long as you have several hens for them.

When muscovys get a couple of months old you can usually tell males from females. The males will typically be larger and have larger feet, but some batches of birds are easier to tell than others. Good luck.

Oh, over night they started getting their pin feathers. lol They grow so fast. But still no color on theur faces.
