Muscovy duckling gender??

The brown one laying in the water def female now look at length of tail of hers compared to the blk chocolate onenext to her big difference that one is a drake

Thanks that helps to confirm some hunches! I have a few ducks that are notably bigger or smaller but most are in the middle and I can't tell! I'm not experienced enough to see the difference in feathering at this age, I just go off feet and body size.

So if the one in the background is a drake, is the one in the front a drake also? They look to be the same size

Can you get some pics of this one looking at him face forward looks like a drake but I also look at where legs sit underneath their body females legs sit closer together than drakes plus side pic where his body is standing natural drakes are longer from end of Bill to end of tail than females.

I will try tomorrow!! Thanks for the tips!

More pics from this morning! Just guessing from feet and body size.

1. I'm thinking female in the front (light colored) with 2 drakes behind her?
2. Brown female on the left, drake on the right?
3. This guy in the center with the wide stance - male?
4. Male on the left, female on the right?
5. Two drakes?

So cute!

How old are they? I'm trying to figure out the ages and gender of my Muscovies.

Are they on rocks all the time? Mine are on grass which has now turned into a flattened down poop mat.
They are about a month and a half old. And no they don't live on gravel! They roam through grass all day, they just came over on the gravel to ask for mealworms treats. It was a good chance to take pictures!

They do turn the straw bedding into flattened down poop mat! With as many ducklings as we have, we are changing that bedding out pretty often.

So much poop, I don't even know what to do. Lol.
Most of ours are for meat so I find myself day dreaming about the fall when we only have a few to keep as pets left. Hopefully 3 or 4 Muscovies equals a lot less poop hahaha.

I have a handful that look to be the same age as yours, as well as older and younger.

It is!! How many ducks do you have? And at what age do you butcher them? We plan to eat some of ours as well (and I look forward to less poop...). But this is our first time around so it's all new! We started out with 4 ducks, and it was much more manageable. Then they hatched 15 eggs and it got a little crazy!

I'm just glad when it rains and helps clean away some of the poop in the yard (the duck house I have to rake out regularly).
