Hi everybody!
My boyfriend's grandparents found this duckling on their patio. It appears it was abandoned due to its leg.
I've never had a duckling before, but the wildlife center near us said they would euthanize it.
So far I've put it into a plastic tub with a 250W red heat lamp about a foot and a half above it. It has wood shavings, water, and some flock raiser I got from a local feed store.
It's eating, drinking and hopping around on its good leg.
My biggest questions are...
Is there anything I'm missing?
Is it OK for it to be raised as a singleton?
Is there anything to be done for its leg? I've seen some online forum posts about making little boots to straighten them out. Has anybody done this before?
Thank you everybody!
