Honestly this is the longest 35 days of my life. I don't think I'm going to make it. I started off all strong and trying to play it cool and not look at the incubator but now I'm about day 17 into incubating my first Muscovy eggs and I'm going to loose it. So if anyone else out there need some moral support...? Mom 2em???

hahahaha I saw the title before I saw it was you who posted this- and I thought, "COOL! Its not just me and sevenchickens...." loL!
Isnt it dragging on and on and on and on? I mean, come on!!!! We would be approaching lock-down if they were chicken eggs....

We must be the only ones with 'scovy eggs in an incubator- because nobody else is chiming in, or complaining- for that matter.

Hang in there- soon we will be the ones staring into the incubator watching the eggs rock back and forth, and hearing peeps. Okay, not SOON, per say, but one of these days...

if it helps, i have a muscovy hen who has 17 eggs and NOT LAYING ON THEM YET. i too am going absolutely nits over here. looks like i might miss them hatch too as i might be in vegas then

Im going to go candle them right now.
I decided that I need to. Really. Its important, right? Its the only way to make it to the end. I will candle now and report back.

eta:

they look dark. I didnt see much. I have too big of a flashlight. I saw veins and darkness. Thats good.
The other eggs that are on day six have NO veining. Nothing. Infertile? I will wait a few more days and candle again.

Absolutely counts Lovesduckies!! I think anyone that is trying to hatch any sort of egg be it in an incubator or with Mom needs a support group! and perhaps a 12 step program.

Mom2emAll. It' will be fine! I can say that because they aren't in my incubator. I'd have them out to candle again by the end of the night. How long has the new batch been in? I'd wait a bit. I'm sure there will be something.

Our lady has finally started sitting on her eggs, so may I join? She's been on them only 2 days, so I have a long way to go. There were 10 eggs in the nest 2 days ago.

This is our first go around with ducks/scovies. We adopted this pair last fall. This is their second laying season. She hatched two clutches last year, both 100% successful. I am fairly new to ducks in general, can I get your guys opinon on what variety, if any, these two are?

I'm no expert and new to ducks myself but I'd say they are lovely Muscovies. Good luck with your hatch. I understand they prefer mom over an incubator....Keep us posted. I love their coloring.
