Yup, my juvies are like that too, especially the black one. BUT, she's the full sister to my Barred, so who knows? Maybe it means she carries it too?

I'm hoping to breed her to a drake that is possibly also split to Barred. And on top of that, he's chocolate, so I'll be able to tell the boys from the girls at hatch!

Oh, and I am kinda sorta increasing the flock tomorrow... sheepish grin

Awesome!!! I breeding mine to a lavender Barr pied drake.

But yeah, doing a trade of six or seven drakes for seven or nine ducklings (possibility of getting Mom too), PLUS I'm picking up four more that were advertised for free. From the pics, they all look like females, albeit whites. Should be fun to do some experimental breeding to figure out what they are under that double-pied!

How do you feed your ducks in your Canadian winters? I can't imagine there is much to forage.
