they do a good job here, looks like I will be getting another female duck, a lady I got 2 of my girls from about 5 yrs ago called me today and asked me if I'd take her last Scovy girl seems they have all been flying off or the coyotes are getting them, [she doesn't pen them up]

So she is handicapped she walks with a limp. DH said what ever and I cannot stand the thoughts of this one duck being eaten so I'll be calling her in the morning to tell her I'll take her. I should have my head examined.

Mosquito eaters??? I need to get a couple more. Maybe they'll teach the rest of my ducks to eat 'em up!

Of coarse! great at keeping west nile at bay, they clear up the puddles from larvae.

Guess who gets to bring home 4 new Muscovey ducklings this weekend??

They will be 3 weeks old on Tuesday, so I am planning on having them in a brooder for a few weeks... how long should they be under a heat lamp?

Til they stop gathering under it to keep warm. Usually you plan on dropping the temp 5degrees a week from 90.
May really only need it at night for a few weeks depending on the temp.

Week 1 should be 85-90 at 3 weeks 75-80. ducklings don't need as high of temps as chicks.
