    Seems I spoke too soon. The boldest hen decided to go on a flying tour yesterday as soon as i released them from their pen. They all follow her, so it wouldn't be long till they are all out roaming. I only have about a quarter acre that is safe for them from prowling dogs and other predators, so this morning they got their wings clipped. They'll be safer and I won't have to worry if they're out foraging where a roaming dog can get them.

    Very good idea. I am clipping as they come out of molt.

    Beautiful ducks and ducklings, my favorite breed of duck too. Did that mama duck hatch all the ducklings?

    Yep she sure did she had 18 eggs and hatched 17 and I lost some due to hawks.
