I would advice to get two females because, as I stated before, other ducks don't understand the body language of a muscovy what can cause some kind of isolation of the latter.
When a muscovy tries to greet a mallard with head bobbing, the mallard just stands there and does nothing in response until the muscovie gives up in frustration. I had this, poor thing mostly stayed on its own. Later, when I had two scovies, they managed to integrate into the flock much better because they had each other.
