Yes, that is the duckling i showed before. Beautiful pic! I took it this morning. Not so much a duckling anymore now...

Looks like a duck in these pics more so than drake. not much carnucling at all. do you have any idea how old?

okay I know this is a dumb question. Will a Muscovy use a chicken nest box? My one was checking out the nest box until the boss hen shooed her/him? First time I ever seen it show any interest in the box(covered cat box) or was it looking for a egg meal?

I live in East Texas, so I would say I live in a warm climate. The heat is probably a bigger concern here than the winter cold. Although it has been down to 28 the past couple of nights, we usually don't have more than 2 or 3 nights in a row that gets that cold before it warms up for a while. We might get one bad ice storm a year.

My main concern is how to build a coop or duck house that will allow me to keep multiple breeding populations separate during the breeding season. I have two populations of muscovy that will need to be kept seperate and the domestic Rouen. Additionaly I will be getting Silver Appleyards next year, so there is another group that will need to be kept separate during breeding season.

I may need to consider building a couple of different coops with dividers which open into separate pens or runs.

Nope not looking for an egg meal, a couple of my Scovy ducks will lay in a chickens nest box and it is a covered cat box too.

The speckled one I had just gotten 10/20 was told about 4-5 mo old.
