Muscovy keepers share your pics!

What does the daddy look like?

All the boys I had when these were eye twinkles were black and white. So likely black and white. But mama's not telling which one it was.

So, my little cockatiel was yelling. She is super sweet, and usually only yells when she is out of food or water, so I went to check her. Her food and water were fine, so I asked her what the matter was.....which was when I glanced out the window. She was yelling because one of my ducks was flapping around in the orchard!

I of course panicked! Originally, my Muscovy had had the entire orchard to play in, but then a raptor found them, and it was already winter, so I tacked a little sun porch onto their coop, and told them they would have to live with less space until summer. I assumed something was eating my Muscovies!

I ran outside, and everything was fine, whew!

I looked around and couldn't see how the one duck had gotten out, but Drake was calling to her, and obviously upset that she had run off and he couldn't follow. I tried to catch my duck, Keks, but she didn't like that idea and kept walking away from me. She circled around the coop and then slipped right under the fence I had put up around their sun porch. I had made their sunporch after everything was frozen solid, but now most of their porch space has melted, turned into mud, and so.... of course my ducks crawled right under the fence. (Except for aerial predators the orchard is pretty safe, so I hadn't been super careful with their coop and sunporch).

Anyway, the entire flock was all excited and worked up after the adventure, so I thought I might as well crawl into their coop and check all of the nests I had set up. I found one egg in the complete dog crate, :ya (I had also put in a half dog crate, but no eggs there) and then I went to check their big box. Drake was VERY upset with me, but I told him that I had to see! He finally agreed to move out of the way so that I could look, and three eggs! :weee i put some more hay around both nests, they both looked like they could use some more, left the eggs and then left them.

:weee :ya :weee

Of course, I am not sure how I will manage if all of my ducks go broody :hu
