Muscovy keepers share your pics!

I have to get my drakes wings clipped....he's having too much fun exploring by himself, while the two girls are nesting. Who knows what he'll get himself into next

And no, I only have ducks in my yard. It's day day 13!
I'd do some candling by now you should see alot of movement going on, this way you can remove eggs that haven't developed and they can care for the eggs that are left much better. They can get themselves into alot of trouble, my boy was very scared he's never been out of their fenced in area and we have tons of predators and it was getting dark fast. I am so thankful I got him home.

I'm so worried about candling!! It's like my ducks never leave to get food/water.... They're both already traumatized I moved the nest and handled their eggs (I didn't want them to get wet anymore from the harsh weather we've been having lately

They really hate me now. lol
your girls are very determined to hatch those eggs, charlie my duck is the same, so what i need you to do is put food and water in the nesting area but a bit away from the eggs so you can have time to get some of the eggs and candle them. as your girls will most likely get up from their spots to get the food and water, i suggest getting one or two eggs from each of your girls

They could have gotten The severe case of avian flu, had a heart attack, Duck plague, or even Duck hepatitis

I don't think it was any sort of disease because all the other birds, including the other ducks, are fine. So it was either an inability to handle the cold or something went wrong internally, I think :(

I just saw the saddest thing ever..... So as I was walking to fill up my ducks water bowl, there was an egg on the floor. (Mind you, this is far from the nest) as I walked closer, I saw it in a puddle of yolk, and a little red looking duckling (fetus?)

What's getting me is how did it stray so far from the nest? Did the ducks not want this egg anymore....

The baby probably died and became a bad egg. Momma will toss bad eggs out.
