Muscovy keepers share your pics!

I know it's scary, but just hang in there. Practice your best biosecurity, and hold on until it passes. Worrying, beyond taking care of biosecurity, won't do any good.

It'll pass soon. We're coming into the hot part of the year and we won't need to worry about it anymore.

I have 7 Muscovy ducks and got 1 egg yesterday so mine are in rest mode they seem to go strong on the laying then take breaks anywhere from 2-3 weeks. maybe that is what is going on with yours.
Thank you, Miss Lydia. If I combine this with the fact we disrupted their routine, it's probably to be expected. I'll just try to be patient!

I ask because of the Outbreak, here's a tracking system
Yes, I know there's an outbreak of bird flu. However, I'm not too worried about that. Bird flu is contangious if your flock comes into contact with droppings from a wild bird that has the bird flu. It's kind of like heartworm in dogs—you have to have an infected dog, a mosquito bite that dog and then bite your dog immediately thereafter. It obviously happens, but it requires multiple steps. What makes the bird flu scary is when it hits factory farmed or even free range flocks, flocks being the operative term. If I recall right, you have quite a few ducks, so if one got it, it could spread. People with fewer ducks have less to worry about. However, as far as I can tell from reading about this, a predator has a much better chance of wiping out your flock than bird flu. There's really very little you can do to protect your ducks unless you pen them up all the time, so perhaps it's time to just enjoy your ducks and let go of some of the worry?

dont remind me I'm neverous as a flea on a dog with canine advantix

Anyway yeah I'm super scared like, I'm really scared of all of this I'm pretty much just a nervous reck i now have 31 instead 37 due to some predator and thats why most of all of them go up now and oh m gosh all these wild geese almost give me a heart attack. Like i shake just thinking about 1 thing that can go wrong, mainly bc i have extreme anxiety but still.

and i really try not to worry but theres just so much to worry about, a lot of my males have something wrong there like hacking, i took one tot he vet a while ago and she said it was a crop infection and gave him meds, week if its a crop infection then why didnt he get better after treatment for 5 weeks! maybe longer i truly lost count. But he's coping with it well, and i don't think its deadly, more as to coping with symptoms. apple cider vinegar has really been helping him because its so acidic it breaks down the basic/alkaline muscus

Thank you. I did get one egg this morning. The broody duck is still sitting on her eggs. She has about 16 days to go before the hatching date. I don't know if she can manage to hatch the eggs, but last year she did get a couple of eggs to the point I could see the baby ducks inside. I've let her handle this since she has a better chance of hatching the eggs than I do of incubating them! However it turns out, the duck is very content brooding the eggs, so it's a win even if she doesn't succeed at hatching them.
