Ok this is my first post. My husband and I are new to being duck parents. We starred with 3 ducklings we bought at the flea market the weekend before Easter. They were very small, maybe a few weeks. They've grown into their colors since then, and we are puzzled at what we have. I know 2 are a breed of muscovy and one is a female mallard (?) I don't think their full breed anything but if someone could help us out and maybe point us in the right direction of what we might exactly know what we have on our hands??

This was when they were babies the day we got them

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!

The non muscovy looks like a drake. Looks like a drake feather is forming.

Thanks very much anyway hun.

@Scovy Momma , why not look into some rescues around your area? might find a Scovy in need of a loving home. That way you'd be giving love to a new baby or adult and she'd be giving love to you and helping you through the grief.

Miss Lydia! You're so smart! I've looked at the SPCA and such with no luck but I will have to see if there are any rescues that will part with a baby duck. Thanks!

I don't get it, I don't know why I feel so sad still. I guess all the places I'd always take her with me & all the work to train just makes it seem lonely now. or maybe my head isn't right,

I think it is the bond you had with her, it's like losing a family member a beloved pet, My girls that I have lost from old age and egg laying troubles still hold a very special place in my heart, and I miss them.

Then again maybe maybe my head isn't right either.

Hi Sovy momma, sorry for your loss. I looked at the Sacramento craigslist and there are a few breeders of muscovy offering ducklings. One in Sheridan looks to have a variety of sizes, they might have a hatch due or some vey young ducklings. I wish I was closer, its an 8hr drive.
